Welcome to the Encanto Elementary School website. Please come and visit us in person to meet our polite, well-behaved students, wonderful volunteers, and dedicated staff.

Encanto is committed to helping every child reach his or her potential. We want to help every child become a positive, contributing member of society with good, solid values and strong academic skills.

We are using every available resource to support student success. We have a computer lab with state of the art computers, a comprehensive school library, and utilize all available space and resources to their best advantage. The number and amount of instructional resources will continue to improve with coordination of effort with all parties.

The District and school support the staff in providing ongoing opportunities for in-services and resources to ensure that we are able to implement standards . Teachers have many opportunities for on-going professional development. We are committed to having the best trained teachers in San Diego. For math we utilize the Harcourt Math Program and continue to see improvement in our students’ math scores. We also utilize a variety of intervention programs and strategies, both in and outside of the regular classroom day to meet the needs of our students.

We serve over 600 students on a traditional schedule. We are proud to announce that we have an all day Kindergarten program. We are also proud to acknowledge Encanto’s staff and parents for working together to continue to improve Academic Performance and Adequate Yearly Progress goals for our site.
