Discipline Policy

Along with our commitment to providing quality educational experiences for students, Farb has a discipline policy and code of conduct for students. Discipline is a shared responsibility among parents, students, and staff.

Reasons for Suspension (district procedures):

  • Assault/Battery, fights, threats, causing injury, unwanted touching of a sexual nature
  • Weapons, explosives, imitation firearms, knives, other dangerous objects
  • Possession, or use of alcohol, drugs, drug paraphernalia, furnishing or selling
  • Damage to school or private property
  • Attempting to steal or stealing school or private property, in possession of stolen goods
  • Smoking, possessing, or supplying tobacco
  • Engaging in profanity or any obscene act
  • Disruption, defiance of authority
  • Sexual or racial harassment
  • Harassment or intimidation of students or staff members, threats, hate violence, witness intimidation
Other reasons for disciplinary action:
  • Participating in rumors
  • Play fighting, name calling, rude behavior
  • Eating or drinking in class
  • Throwing rocks or other inappropriate items
  • Leaving campus without a pass
  • Out of class without a pass
  • Riding skateboards, roller blades, or bikes on campus
  • Gambling, betting on cards, sports, dice
  • Tardies and Truancies
  • Bringing inappropriate items to school: toys, radios, tape recorders, CD players, pagers, video games, hats, rags, and articles that make noise. Items will be taken from students and parents may pick them up from the counseling center. The school is not responsible for personal items brought to school.
  • Excessive display of affection (example: kissing and hugging)
  • Graffiti on personal items or school property
  • Possession of water balloons or stink bombs
