Music Appreciation
101: Professor Saguil
Students will be studying to the lives of the following composers:

Johan Sebastian Bach

Ludwig Van Beethoven

Johannes Brahms
-
Clara Schumann
-
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
In addition,
students will participate in music exploration including rhythms, melodies,
pitches, patterns, vocals, and rhythms instruments. The curriculum taught
will come from the McGraw-Hill Share the Music Program, which encompasses
the California Music Standards for the fourth grade. |
A-MAZE-ING Shapes
102: Professor Lee
Individually
and in groups, students develop and use their knowledge of plane geometry and maze
construction to create an A-MAZE-ING entrance to Geo World, a Pythagorean theme
park. Students will identify shapes and their properties while studying area and
perimeter, measure and construct angles and shapes, read suggested literature, and
design mazes and prepare for the final maze design project

Design 103: Professor Front
The fourth grade
students will apply math skills, cooperation skills, and creativity to design their
first home. Students will work in collaboration groups as architects interior
designers and contractors.
Not only will
design teams have to consider diverse family situations, but also the financial
needs of their clients. Students will enjoy the true-to-life situations of
designing and furnishing a home |

Folk
Tales 104: Professor Harold
Children will travel
to different
countries where they will read and listen to a variety of traditional and original
folk tales. Students will then create school, neighborhood, and personal folk
tales. This course will end with a multicultural folk tale festival.
