The Colonial Living Museum Rubric

The following rubrics describes the levels of accomplishment for your research report.

  • Each topic is addressed in an extremely organized way, topics with limited information are not omitted.
  • Writing is clear with few errors, if any.
  • Use of maps, pictures, ect. to enhance the report.
  • Presentation of report looks sharp, no wrinkles, or stains and has a cover.
  • Correct format for the bibliography, use a variety of resources.

  • Topics are clearly defined - strong organizational plan.
  • Variety of sentence structure ad proper vocabulary.
  • Writing has few errors in conventions and spelling.
  • Use of map or picture to enhance report.
  • Presentation of report is good, some wrinkling ect.
  • Correct format for the bibliography, 2 - 3 resources.

  • Topics are developing in organization - focus stays on the topic, omits topics.
  • Beginning to use correct vocabulary.
  • Use map or picture, may enhance somewhat.
  • Writing has errors yet is readable.
  • Presentation of report is fair - wrinkles maps and pictures, but report is clean.
  • Some errors in the format of the bibliography.

  •  Somewhat organized, but wanders from the topic, not all topics addressed.
  • Simple vocabulary, use vague phrases like:  stuff, things...
  • Frequent errors in conventions and spelling.
  • Presentation of report is messy, may be missing a cover.

  • Inconsistent organizational plan - difficult to follow topic.
  • Limited vocabulary, many errors in conventions and spelling.
  • Presentation is poor, appears that little consideration went into the report.
N
  • Topic strays and does not make sense.
  • Report is incomplete, needs more research.
  • Errors highly interfere.
