NOKIA Matching Employee Gifts Connecting Communities

Introduction:

Giving back to the community has always been an important part of Nokia, and now, there program that can increase your contributions to eligible charitable and non-profit organization All permanent, fulltime employees, retirees and employees on leave with maintenance of benefits can take advantage of this 50 percent gift-matching program for their favorite charities. Every employee is eligible to have gifts matched at .50 per dollar up to a total of $500 per gift. Gifts are matched only on the basis of donations made, not pledges or commitments.

Eligible Organizations:

Non-profit community organizations which meet Nokia's Corporate Giving Policy, including charities which have a tax-exempt status under sections 501 (c) 3 or 509 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code are eligible. Contributions to them are tax-deductible. These programs must be open to, and used by, a cross-section of the public. Also included are elementary, second. two-year and four-year colleges, universities, and vocational and technical schools. Organizations, which are not eligible, include religious, fratern  or political organizations, chambers of commerce, individuals, college or university athletic programs or funds and or annual charity events.

Procedures:

Both the employee and the organization must complete the following steps:
Complete the Nokia Matching Gift application according to the instructions provided not alter or edit the form in any way.  Incomplete or edited forms are considered invalid and gift will not be matched.

Employee:

  1. Complete Part A of the enclosed application. Please read all the guidelines carefully and provide all information requested.

  2. Send your donation check along with the application to the organization so they can complete Part B.

Organization:

  1. Complete Part B of the application and attach a copy of your organization's tax-exempt from the Internal Revenue Service showing 501 (c) 3 or 509(a) status. Grants will not be made without this documentation. These forms are not required for public universities, I hospitals or government entities.

  2. Organization staff or board member signs the application. This person may not be a Nokia employee or retiree.

  3. Return the completed application and 501 (c) 3 or 509(a) letter to the address on the form.

If the organization is ineligible or the application is incomplete, the employee will be notified.
