DWA-What it means for district offices
The DWA will change the way we do business at district offices. You can look forward to the changes listed below. As more changes are identified, this page will be updated to share that information.
- No more dual entry
The days of dual-entry of the same data into different systems will be gone. With the DWA, the human resources and financial systems will be fully integrated, meaning information will be shared across the systems in real-time. In addition, the student and special ed systems will be linked with the human resources and financial systems, too. This will give district staff an accurate picture of the status of the district or any school or department at any point in time. - Gain critical insights, improve decision-making
through extensive reporting capabilities
Using a data warehouse that permits access to a variety of data from different systems, district employees will be able to create and run reports that were never before possible. With reporting tools such as Cognos, we'll have new and more extensive ways to view and analyze district-wide data on operations and instructional programs.
- New systems
At the most basic level, the computer systems that district office staff use to do business will change:- Employees working with student and special ed information will use Zangle Desktop and 4GL, respectively.
- Employees in the Human Resources Division will use the PeopleSoft HCM (Human Capital Management) system instead of the "mainframe" and many of the client-server applications that they presently use.
- Employees in the Financial Division will use the PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain Management systems instead of the "mainframe" and client-server applications that they presently use.
