DWA-What it means for special student populations staff

4GL School Solutions' integrated special populations software will greatly change the way staff addresses the "paperwork jungle".
- Online Forms
IEP and all related forms will be completed online, using a Mac or PC, with the 4GL web-based ENCORE! Timeline Tracker and Forms Tracker application. Online forms will also be implemented for the Section 504 and Intervention modules. The color-coded forms highlight required information and guide you quickly through the process. - Better compliance with timelines
Once a student is referred to special education, ENCORE! Timeline Tracker will automatically schedule required events such as dates for sending meeting notices and dates for Initial IEP, Annual Review, and Triennial Review meetings so that they occur within legal time frames. With each student you'll clearly see the next steps in the process and the dates by which they must occur. Reports remind staff of upcoming IEP meetings and other items that are coming due. The timelines in ENCORE! Timeline Tracker are based on rigorous review of California regulations and determination of San Diego City Schools best practices. - Better compliance with testing accommodations
Testing accommodations from the IEP will appear both in 4GL ENCORE! and in Zangle TeacherConnection so that general education teachers can also stay informed of required testing accommodations. - Better compliance on services
Services specified in a student's IEP will appear both in 4GL ENCORE! and in Zangle TeacherConnection for better communication with the student's teachers. In addition, service providers will use 4GL Encounter Tracker to record sessions with students. This will enable the system to track compliance and quickly flag where the district may be out of compliance on service delivery.
- Automatic Medi-Cal billing
Based on the service provider records entered into 4GL Encounter Tracker, 4GL Claims Tracker will capture those services that are billable to Medi-Cal, and automatically pass them on to SDCS's financial system for billing. This will result in a tremendous return on investment for the district. - Training, training, training
It is 4GL's goal to achieve 98% level of data accuracy at all of their customer sites. Both 4GL and the district are committed to training and supporting special student populations staff to achieve that goal.
