DWA-What it means for teachers
For the first time, San Diego City Schools teachers will have online access to student data in the classroom through the web-based Zangle TeacherConnection.
Zangle's TeacherConnection
TeacherConnection gives teachers direct access to information on students enrolled in their class(es). Teachers will use the web-based TeacherConnection on a Mac or PC with Internet access to view and manage the following types of student data:
- Student profiles
View demographic and contact information for the students in your class(es). - Classroom attendance
Take attendance online each day (or each period, for secondary schools). - Seating charts
Create and view your classroom seating charts online. You can even take attendance from the seating chart.
- Classroom marks entry
Enter student grades from any computer or location that has web access. (Note: in Zangle, grades are called "marks" to distinguish them from grade levels, such as first grade or second grade.) Using Zangle GradeBook, teachers can track assignments, activities, and tests. You can also select values and weighting for each task. - Classroom news
Teachers can post news items and announcements pertaining to each class. Items posted here will be available to parents and students over the Internet through Zangle ParentConnection and StudentConnection. - Classroom reports
View and print convenient reports such as: Attendance Summary Report; Class Marks; Report Card Comment Legend; Class Rosters; and Student Directory.
To see sample TeacherConnection screens and reports, view slides 15-28 of this DWA Presentation given at various schools by Denis Dolbey, DWA-Student Project Manager. (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.)
