DWA-Financial System

San Diego City Schools is pleased to have selected the PeopleSoft products, Financial and Supply Chain Management Systems for the Financial portion of the DWA.

These systems will replace the "mainframe" system that the district has been using for decades. It will also replace systems such as EFRA (Electronic Forms Routing and Approval), MBA for General Ledger, and the Journal Voucher system.

PeopleSoft

The PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management systems will significantly improve the district's ability to deliver quality and timely financial information. PeopleSoft Financials is a robust system providing state-of-the-art workflow capabilities and easy, secure access through the Internet. The system's "real time" processing of high-volume transactions will decrease the time necessary for many administrative tasks, thus enabling Finance division staff to focus on more strategic business initiatives. The Financial and Supply Chain Management Systems will be integrated with the district's new Human Capital Management system to provide dependable, efficient, cost effective, real-time information to support data-driven decisions benefiting our district.

Many individuals from throughout the district worked hard to define the requirements, review vendor proposals, attend demonstrations, and select the best product for the district's needs. (For more information on how PeopleSoft was selected, please see A Brief History of the DWA.)
