DWA-Human Resources System
San Diego City Schools is pleased to have selected the PeopleSoft product, Human Capital Management (HCM), for the Human Resources portion of the DWA.
This system will replace the "mainframe" system that the district has been using—and struggling with for decades—to handle human resources, benefits and payroll processing.

The PeopleSoft HCM system will significantly improve the Human Resource division's ability to deliver quality administrative services. HCM is a robust system providing state-of-the-art workflow capabilities and easy, secure access through the Internet. The system's "event driven" processing of high volume transactions will decrease the time necessary for many administrative tasks, thus enabling the Human Resources staff to focus on more strategic business initiatives. The HCM system will be integrated with other Business Operations systems, such as Financials and Student Information, to eliminate redundancies of data entry. The integration of these systems will provide dependable, efficient, cost effective, real-time information to support data-driven decisions that benefit the district.
Many individuals from throughout the district worked hard to define the requirements, review vendor proposals, attend demonstrations, and select the best product for the district's needs. (For more information on how PeopleSoft was selected, please see A Brief History of the DWA .)
