Want to be a School Volunteer?

In order to ensure an organized volunteer system and, most importantly, the safety of our students, we will be enforcing a well-defined procedure for all volunteers.

The steps prior to volunteering at Language Academy are as follows:

1. Fill out a School Volunteer Application. We will be asking that new applications be completed every year.
2. Sign Volunteer Code of Conduct.
3. Provide proof of TB testing. Attached you will find a letter from the district and County Health Services explaining further.
   • If you are volunteering at Language Academy for the first time, we will ask that you provide proof of TB testing. We can also provide testing at our Nurse’s Office on Monday’s between 8 – 10 a.m.
   • If you have volunteered at Language Academy previously, and your TB test is current, we will ask for a copy of your TB card.
4. Come in to take your picture for a volunteer badge at the office. Badges will be made on Mondays from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. and Thursdays from 1:00 -3:00 p.m.

Once these steps have been completed, the following are the procedures for the actual volunteer work hours.

1. Upon arrival, sign in at front office and pick up your badge.
2. Upon departure, sign out at front office and leave your badge at school. Do not take your badge home as we will be checking our volunteer board and sign-in sheets at the end of each day.

Because the safety of our students is of utmost importance, please be advised that the sign-in/out steps will be strictly enforced. Additionally, we must be informed of the whereabouts of adults in the school at all times in case of emergency. Noncompliance of our policy will, unfortunately, result in volunteer status being revoked.
