San Diego Parent University is a resource that is appropriate
for all parents of students in San Diego City Schools. Certainly,
the larger San Diego community stands to benefit when parents are
significantly engaged in their childrens lives inside
schools and understand the importance of being involved in their
childrens lives outside of schools. For San Diego Parent
University to continue its level of success and outreach to
families, it must continue as a partnership endeavor between the
district and community or national funders.
In the first year of San Diego Parent University, district
support was provided for basic "start up" costs but San Diego
Parent University must seek funding and in-kind support to expand
and offer this resource to all parents in the district.
