President of Volunteers

The President of Volunteers is responsible for the administrative and volunteering side of the organization.  This would include running the monthly meetings, and overseeing the yearbook, hospitality functions, newsletter, directory, assemblies, and calendar.  Responsible for finding chairpersons for and overseeing the following programs:  Red Ribbon Week, e-Reminders, and Gator Olympics.  

President of Fundraising

The President of Fundraising is responsible for all aspects of fundraising, including the Community Partner Program, T-shirts, Tile Project, Harvest Festival, Book Fair and Sock Hop.  In addition, this person assists the VP—Annual Giving Fund, Silent Auction, Sally Foster/Gold C, and Jog-a-thon Chairs in any capacity needed. 

Vice-President—Annual Giving Fund

The VP—Annual Giving Fund is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the sponsor/grant drives.  Must maintain a detailed computer database (Excel) of all donors and acknowledge all donations.     

Vice-President—Volunteer Coordinator 

The VP—Volunteer Coordinator assists Chairs and Program Committees in recruiting volunteers.  Early in the Fall, distributes volunteer recruitment forms to all parents, collates results and provides a preliminary list of volunteers for all FSG functions.  Requests name of room parents from each teacher, holds a meeting with room parents to explain their responsibilities.  

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for all banking aspects of FSG, including creating a budget, writing and depositing checks, and providing copies of the budget for each FSG meeting.  Oversees the functions of the Financial Secretary. 

Recording Secretary

The Secretary takes notes at all FSG meetings, and provides copies of the minutes for the next meeting.  Keeps a permanent record of minutes and the newsletter, and reminds board members of meeting dates. 

Silent Auction Chairperson

The Silent Auction Chairperson is responsible for all aspects of the Silent Auction. 

Sally Foster/Gold C Chairperson

The Sally Foster/ Gold C Chairperson is responsible for all aspects of the Sally Foster and Gold C fundraisers.  

Jog-a-thon Chairperson

The Jog-a-thon Chairperson is responsible for all aspects of the Jog-a-thon. 

Public Relations

This person is our Parent Congress representative, as well as a member of the SGT/SSC committee.  Responsible for other aspects of public relations as needed. 

Principal

The principal of Silver Gate will attend meetings and inform the FSG of important information. 

Teacher Representative

At least one Silver Gate teacher will be a board member and report the needs and wants of the teaching staff. 

At-Large Board Member

Available to take on responsibility as needed. 

Friends of Silver Gate Committee Positions 

Financial Secretary  The Financial Secretary assists Treasurer in her duties including collecting, counting and depositing funds.   

Hospitality  Responsible for coordination of the Back to School Luncheon for the teachers, the First Day of School Coffee, as well as Teacher Appreciation Week in May.  In addition, provides refreshments for monthly FSG meetings. 

Directory  Compiles a list of all students and their parents who wish to be included in the Silver Gate Directory.  Creates, edits, and publishes directory in a professional format.   

Newsletter Editor  Newsletter Editor shall compile and publish the school newsletter on a monthly basis. 

Yearbook Editor  Yearbook Editor shall compile and publish the school yearbook throughout the school year. 

Red Ribbon Week  Coordinates Drug Awareness activities and assemblies, held in October. 

Book Fair  Coordinates the 3-day sale event of the Scholastic Book Fair, usually held in May. 

Gator Olympics  Coordinates events for yearly Gator Olympics, held in June. 

Community Partners Coordinator  Educates and recruits parents to join e-Scrip program, schoolcash.com, schoolpop.com and Albertsons programs.  Reports on monthly earnings and membership figures. 

T-shirts/School Merchandise  Coordinates the ordering, printing and distribution of school merchandise throughout the school year. 

Tile Project  Distribute flyers and is the Tile Project liaison for the school. 

Harvest Festival  Coordinates all activities of the Harvest Festival, held in October. 

Sock Hop  Coordinates all activities of the Sock Hop, including hiring a DJ, decorations, ticket sales and food. 

e-Reminders Coordinator  Coordinates information and dissemination of email reminders and calendar events. 

Grant Coordinator  Coordinates grant efforts and acts as liaison between FSG and hired grant writers. 

Staff Appreciation Week  Coordinates gift-giving, thank yous, and luncheon for Staff Appreciation Week, held in May.
