Art  Classes

Art class, for all grade levels, is an introductory program.  It gives students a chance to experience as many areas of art as possible within the time constraints of each class.

Each student studies the basic elements in art and experiments with as many types of media as possible, depending upon their grade level. Different artists are used as examples for study and guides in order to show students the possibilities and purpose of their assignments.

Painting and drawing are my favorite subjects, but we do explore other areas and mediums; chalk and ink, design, graphic design, freehand printing, cartooning, hand built clay, linoleum block printing and the principles of perspective drawing. My goal is to give each student as wide an experience as possible in class so that they might find a life long love of art. If something really appeals to them, they can go on in high school and do some in depth work in the area of art that really interests them.
