Mr. Grano Goes to Washington

Mr. Grano has just returned from a 4-day trip to Washington DC (March 17 to 20).
He and Genevieve Esmende had been invited to join Dr. Carl Cohn, Superintendent of San Diego Unified School District, Chelsea Smith, Area 2 Superintendent, and Arun Ramanathan, Executive Director of Government Relations, to speak with Assistant Secretary for Legislation and Congressional Affairs Terrell Halaska from the Department of Education in Washington and Margaret Spellings, U.S. Secretary of Education. The discussion, which focused on No Child Left Behind (NCLB) issues, took place in the Members Dining room at the Capitol.
While in Washington Mr. Grano also attended the Council of Great City Schools Conference on March 19 - 20. |
