Junior Model United Nations

| The Junior Model UN Club, consisting of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade seminar students participated in the annual conference on Wednesday, May 23, and Thursday, May 24, 2007, at the Joan Kroc Center for Peace and Justice on the University of San Diego campus. The Club is sponsored by Mrs. Reilly and Mrs. Vanderhurst. The Conference is an opportunity for students to hone their research and debate skills in a mock council of United Nations countries. The students had a great time and many say they want to participate again next year. A special thank you to Scripps Ranch High students who attended our biweekly meetings and aided the students as they researched their countries and practiced their debates. And, congratulations to seventh grade student, Justin S. He was recognized with the "gavel award" by the WHO (World Health Organization) committee for being the delegate who best represented diplomacy and research on his country. |
